Coir Block
Coir block or coconut coir block, is a compressed block made from the fibrous remains of coconut husks, left after extracting the long coir fibers. These blocks are widely used in horticulture as a soil amendment and growing medium.
The production involves washing and drying the coir fibers before compressing them into manageable blocks. When you add water, these blocks expand significantly, becoming a lightweight and highly absorbent medium suitable for plant growth. The processing into compact blocks makes them easy to handle, transport, and store in various gardening applications.
Used For
Horticulture
Coir blocks serve as an optimal growing medium in horticulture, accommodating a wide range of plants including vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs. Their high water retention and porosity make them particularly well-suited for hydroponic gardening, greenhouse cultivation, and potted plants.
Seed Starting
Ideal for seed starting, coir blocks offer a sterile environment devoid of pests and diseases. They provide the perfect balance of moisture and aeration necessary for successful seed germination.
Animal Bedding
Coir blocks serve as ideal bedding for animals like horses, chickens, and rabbits due to their absorbent nature, ease of cleaning, and ability to create a comfortable living environment for the animals.

How To Use
01
Take the Coir Block and place it in a large container or bucket.
02
Pour ±15 liters of water over the Coir Brick, ensuring it is fully submerged. Allow it to soak and absorb the water for approximately 30 minutes.
03
Once the Coir Block has absorbed the water, you will notice it expanding. Use your hands to fluff and separate the coir fibers. This step is important to ensure a well-aerated and loose growing medium.
04
Now that the coir has expanded and fluffed, you can use it as a growing medium for your plants. Fill your pots or planting containers with the hydrated and expanded coir, providing a healthy environment for your plants to grow.
